What If Your Skin Could Work For You? (And why it sometimes just needs a little nudge…)

The human body is extraordinary. It’s intelligent. Designed to heal, to repair, and to renew itself — even without us telling it to. But as time goes on, sometimes it just needs a little support. A kind encouragement. A gentle reminder to restart those natural processes that slow down over time. And that’s where #microneedling comes in.

There comes a moment – somewhere in your 30s – when your skin quietly begins to change. The glow is softer, the texture a bit rougher, and somehow… it doesn’t “bounce back” like it used to. But here’s the interesting part: it’s not about age. It’s about collagen – and what your skin is no longer producing as much of. Microneedling isn’t magic.

It’s science and skin biology, gently guiding your body to do what it naturally wants to do: repair, rebuild, and renew. And that’s what I love about it.

Microneedling – Not Just Another Facial

Microneedling isn’t a miracle cream or a one-size-fits-all quick fix. It’s a deeply personalised treatment that stimulates your body’s own healing power. This treatment goes beneath the surface. Literally! By creating tiny micro-channels on the skin, microneedling sends a signal to your body: “Wake up. It’s time to produce more collagen, elastin, and all the goodness that keeps you glowing.” The result? More collagen. More elastin. Improved skin texture. Fewer fine lines. Less visible acne scars. Brighter, smoother, more resilient skin. It’s not about changing your face. It’s about helping your skin be itself again.

But... Why Does Collagen Matter So Much?

Collagen isn’t just for beauty. It’s what gives structure to your:

  1. Skin
  2. Bones
  3. Blood vessels
  4. Muscles

After the age of 30, your natural collagen production slows down dramatically – and no cream can quite replace that from the outside. A good aftercare can help and support. But microneedling? It wakes things up from the inside.

Not All Treatments Are Created Equal

Here’s what many don’t tell you:

  1. Microneedling must be tailored to your skin type, age, concerns and lifestyle.
  2. What works for post-acne skin won’t work the same for someone targeting fine lines around the lips or pigmentation on the cheeks.

A Serum Cocktail Designed Only for You. Here at Infinity Beauty in Kendal, I use the Phi Microneedling system, powered by high-performance Phi serums and PhiBright. These aren’t your average off-the-shelf products. Each serum is mixed and adjusted on the spot, depending on your skin’s tone, condition, and needs. PhiBright serums contain active ingredients chosen specifically for pigmentation, acne scarring, dull skin, rosacea or ageing. Think of it like a skin cocktail — but made by someone who knows the recipe just for your skin. And yes — I’m certified and trained to the highest standards in Phi Microneedling and PhiBright. (I’ll proudly post my certificates because education matters.) Each treatment is different – because you are different. And your face deserves expert hands.

When Will I See Results?

Some clients begin to notice a fresh glow just a few days after their first treatment. But for deep skin changes — like improving texture, scars, or fine lines — it’s typically a gradual process.Usually, 3 to 5 sessions spaced 3-4 weeks apart deliver optimal results. And remember: everyone’s skin is unique. Some respond faster, some need a little more time — that’s completely normal.

Microneedling vs. Injectables – Let’s Talk Honestly

Here’s the truth no one talks about:

Injectables (like fillers) can visibly improve volume quickly — but they don’t stimulate your skin to work.

They fill gaps, but they don’t fix the root cause: the loss of collagen and elasticity.

Over time, this may lead to:

- Sagging skin, especially if the filler migrates or gets metabolised unevenly

- Stretching of tissue, which can make the skin appear more “tired” once the filler wears off

- Migration to unwanted areas (such as lips changing shape or puffiness under eyes)

While injectables may work for someone wanting a fast boost (especially between 35–65 years of age), microneedling is for those looking for sustainable, long-term skin health and a naturally fresh look.

What Can Microneedling Help With?

Microneedling targets a wide range of skin concerns, including:

-Fine lines & wrinkles (especially around eyes and mouth)

-Acne scars and texture irregularities

-Enlarged pores

-Pigmentation, rosacea & sun spots

-Stretch marks

-Dull, tired-looking skin

In short? It helps your skin help itself.

Common Questions I Get Asked (A Lot):

1. Is it painful?

Not really. I use numbing cream in most cases for comfort — especially if we go deeper for scarring or wrinkles.

2. Can I wear makeup after?

Not immediately. It’s best to wait 48-72 hours. Let your skin breathe and recover.

3. How long is the downtime?

You may experience light redness for 1–3 days. Some mild peeling or tightness can happen, but nothing too dramatic.

4. Will I peel?

Not always, but it can happen — especially if your skin is dry or the treatment was deeper. It’s totally normal.

5. Is SPF important after microneedling?

YES. Your skin is more sensitive post-treatment, and SPF protects it from damage and pigmentation. I’ll always recommend a suitable one for your skin type.

The Aftercare That Matters More Than You Think

Here’s where many skip a step (and it shows):

Post-treatment care is everything. After microneedling, your skin is extra receptive – like an open window. That means:

  1. SPF is non-negotiable.
  2. No harsh actives, no pools, no sunbeds, no makeup, no picking.
  3. Hydration is key – from the outside and the inside.
  4. Skin needs time, not pressure. Let it breathe and heal.

Do it right, and you’ll notice the difference within days. Do it wrong, and you’ll wonder what went wrong.
